The park was constructed by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore. The park is built from old vehicle parts and other metal waste, including fans, umbrellas, iron sheets, nuts and bolts, bicycle and motorcycle components, and metal railings, as well as old torches, bikes, chains, and defunct sewer lines, some of which are centuries old. Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the seven-acre ‘Waste to Wonder Park’ at Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Van, near Sarai Kale Khan.

Many solar panels can be seen in this park for lighting arrangements. Apart from the seven wonders of the world located in this park, a beautifully carved fountain and fountain waterfall have also been made, seeing which people take a very relaxed breath.

The SDMC has made this theme park self-sustaining with self-sustaining energy, including 3 windmills (worth 1 kW), 3 solar trees (worth 5 kW), and a 10 kW solar roof.

1. Eiffel Tower of Paris–

Waste to Wonder Park Delhi’s tallest wonder is a replica of the Eiffel Tower. It has been made 60 feet high. This grand structure has been built by artist Sandeep Pisalkar. 40 tonnes of automobile scrap has been used to make it. This includes the angles, diesel tank of the truck, C-channel and clutch plate. The three levels of the structure were first built separately and later joined at the top with the help of industrial cranes.

2. Taj Mahal of Agra–

This most beautiful monument in the waste of wonder has been replicated in the park with a height of 20 feet. 30 tons of waste material was used to make it and 24 workers worked on it and built it in 5 and a half months. It also has a fountain in front of the monument inside a rectangular pond.

3. Statue of Liberty of New York–

The height of the Statue of Liberty in the Waste of Wonder is 35 feet. This replica of Statue of Liberty has been made by Zakir, a resident of Delhi. 8 tonnes of waste has been used to make it, which includes metal sheets, benches, angles, metal railings, scrap pipes, car rims, cycle chains and old bikes.

4. Colosseum of Rome–

Rome’s 15-feet-tall Colosseum in New Delhi’s Waste to Wonder Park has been built using 11 tonnes of scrap, including materials such as electric poles, 410 car wheels, benches, automobile spare parts and metal railings.

5. Christ the Redeemer of Rio–

The replica of Christ the Redeemer at Rio de Janeiro’s Waste of Wonder theme park is 25 feet tall. It has been made by an artist named Shubham from Vadodara city. It took 5 months to make it. It is made from scrap materials such as motorcycle chains, engine parts, old benches and electric poles.

6. Great Pyramid of Giza–

The Waste to Wonder theme park features an 18-feet tall pyramid with 110 layers. It has been built by architect Piyush Patra of Vadodara. It was made from 10800 feet of scrap weighing about 12 tons.

7. Leaning Tower of Pisa–

This replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa is 25 feet tall and leans up to 80 degrees, making it a unique landmark at Waste to Wonder Theme Park Delhi. Metal sheets, old pipes, benches, lawn mowers, springs, bicycle rims and typewriters have been used to make it.

• The toilet at the Waste of Wonder theme park is also made from an old shipping container and has solar panels on its roof.
