Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple History

One day the sage saw a small boy near his ashram and was so fascinated by the boy that he requested the boy to stay with him. The boy agreed on the condition that he should never be insulted. The sage used to tolerate the childish actions of this child patiently. But one day when the sage was praying, the boy took the ‘Shalagram’ in which the sage was praying, and put it in his mouth thereby defiling it. Seeing all this the sage became very angry and he asked the boy to leave the place immediately.

The boy started leaving from there and while leaving he told the sage that “if he ever wanted to meet him then he should come to Ananthakadu”. After the boy left, the sage realized that the boy was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Then Munivar set out to search for that boy.

After some time the boy became completely absorbed in the ‘Iluappa’ tree (Indian butter tree) at a place called Keval near Ananthakadu. Due to which the tree fell on the ground and the idol of Lord Vishnu started appearing from it. The size of the idol was so large that its head was at Tiruvallam, about three miles from the eastern fort, and its feet were at Tripappapur, five miles to the north of that place.

The sage then prayed to Lord Vishnu to shrink in size so that he could have darshan of him. After listening to the sage, Lord Vishnu reduced the size of the idol by 18 feet. Then the sage presented some raw mangoes kept in a coconut shell, obtained from a nearby place, to Lord Vishnu. From that day onwards this Prasad continues as a tradition in this temple.

Thousands of gold chairs, rubies and emeralds along with about 1200 thick gold chains are also kept in this temple. According to an estimate, without taking into account the value of antiquities, the value of the monumental objects would be more than Rs 1 lakh crore.

It is also said, that many other kings and emperors of various empires like Chera, Pallava and Chola had donated jewelery and many valuables to the deity. After conducting the survey, the government has ordered re-sealing of the safes. Thus the answer to the Padmanabhaswamy Temple mystery lies behind the exception of Vault B, which has not yet been solved.

Retired IPS officer Sundararajan had filed a petition in the Supreme Court in 2011 to take stock of the unaccounted treasure of the temple. In the year 2011, the basements of this temple were opened under the supervision of the Supreme Court, in which a lot of money, gold, silver and diamonds and jewels were found and their value was estimated in trillions. Vault B, which was called Nilavaras or Kallara, was never opened. It is believed that whoever tries to open it will invite bad luck.

Mystery of Padmanabhaswamy Temple Vault B

Vault B is believed to be guarded by serpents. It is believed that a folkloric vampire named Kanjirottu Yakshi guards it along with other supernatural deities. It is believed that anyone who tries to open the doors invites trouble. No one might have believed this at first, but when the officer who filed the petition in the Supreme Court tried to get it opened, his death a few weeks later proved it.

It is also said that in the year 1931, when an attempt was being made to open the door of the temple of Lord Vishnu, thousands of snakes surrounded the basement of the temple and those who tried to do so died due to their bites.

This mysterious door is wooden and it is said that it was not closed by any chain, chain or bolt etc. but by chanting certain mantras. The shape of two snakes on the door tells that some sages have tied it with a powerful mantra like Nag Pasham and now only a knowledgeable person who knows the correct pronunciation of Garuda Mantra can open it, but it is so difficult that even a slight mistake in the pronunciation can cause harm to someone. Could cause trouble for.
